Rivers United to Face RS Berkane, Pyramids SC, Power Dynamos in CAF Champions League Group A
Rivers United FC of Nigeria have been drawn in Group A of the 2025-26 CAF Champions League, set to face Morocco’s RS Berkane, Egypt’s Pyramids SC, and Zambia’s Power Dynamos in a fiercely competitive pool.
The official draw for the CAF Champions League group stage places Rivers United alongside some of Africa’s most formidable clubs. Group A consists of:
• RS Berkane (Morocco)
• Pyramids SC (Egypt)
• Rivers United FC (Nigeria)
• Power Dynamos (Zambia)
Other groups include reigning champions and continental heavyweights. Group B features Al Ahly FC (Egypt), Young Africans (Tanzania), AS FAR (Morocco), and JSK (Algeria). In Group C, Mamelodi Sundowns (South Africa), Al Hilal SC (Sudan), MC Alger (Algeria), and FC St Eloi Lupopo (DR Congo) will battle for top spots. Group D includes Espérance Sportive de Tunis (Tunisia), Simba SC (Tanzania), Atletico Petroleos (Angola), and Stade Malien (Mali).
The draw promises exciting fixtures, with each team in Group A vying for a place in the knockout stages amid intense competition. Rivers United, having recently advanced to the group stages, will be keen to make history by progressing further in Africa’s biggest club tournament.
Clubs will play home-and-away round robin matches, with the top two from each group moving to the quarterfinals.
