Nigeria Premier Football League side Enyimba have reportedly slashed players’ monthly wages by 50 percent as part of cost-cutting measures. Speaking on condition of anonymity, one of the players revealed that the decision has left the squad frustrated and demoralized.

“They’ve placed us on half salary,” the player said. “They haven’t paid us a single match bonus since the season started and are now cutting our salaries by half,” he added.

The development comes amid reports that several clubs in the domestic league are facing financial difficulties, raising concerns about player welfare and the long-term sustainability of the competition.
