A 24-year-old man in Adamawa State has set tongues wagging after confessing that he stole packs of noodles just to pamper his three girlfriends, only for all of them to abandon him the moment he landed in prison.
Usama Abdullahi, a car-wash worker from Shelleng LGA, spilled the emotional tale before the Adamawa jail delivery committee, the special mobile court reviewing cases to ease overcrowding in correctional centres.
According to Daily Trust, Abdullahi fled the town after the theft but was eventually arrested and slammed with a two-year jail sentence at the Shelleng Satellite Custodial Facility.
“I stole Indomie and distributed it to my three girlfriends,” he said.
“Since I arrived at the facility, none of them paid me a visit. I promise to end the relationship with them all once I gain my freedom.”
His heartbreak apparently moved the committee’s chairperson, Hafsat Abdulrahman, who reduced his sentence from imprisonment to community service.
