The Founder of Living Faith Church Worldwide, Bishop David Oyedepo, has started a nationwide spiritual mobilisation, calling for seven straight nights of intense prayers to confront Nigeria’s deepening insecurity crisis.
The announcement was delivered on Sunday by the Senior Pastor of Dunamis International Gospel Centre, Pastor Paul Enenche, during his sermon in Abuja, drawing immediate national attention.
According to Enenche, Oyedepo has grown increasingly troubled by the relentless wave of violence sweeping across the country and believes Nigeria must urgently return to the place of prayer.
The prayers, which begin tonight, will run daily from 11 p.m. to 12 a.m. for seven days, with Oyedepo personally preparing the prayer points.
Enenche quoted him as saying,“Our Father in the Lord, Bishop Oyedepo, we have been discussing the situation of our country back and forth. He is very, very bothered and passionate about it, and he has called on like-minded people for us to embark on a seven-day prayer for the nation at midnight. Like from 11 p.m. to 12 a.m., starting tonight.”
The urgent call follows Borno State Governor Babagana Zulum’s declaration of Monday, November 24, 2025, as a statewide day of fasting and prayer in response to renewed security concerns.
Announcing the exercise, Zulum said,
“As a people of faith, we believe our security strategies must be underpinned by prayer. I, hereby declare Monday, 24th November, 2025, as a Statewide Day of Fasting and Prayer for the restoration of peace in Borno State and the country.”
He further urged residents from all faith backgrounds to participate:
“On this day, I call upon every resident of Borno, regardless of faith, to join in prayer for the lasting peace and prosperity of our beloved state and Nigeria.”
This wave of spiritual mobilisation comes amid a disturbing rise in abductions across the northern region, including 25 schoolgirls kidnapped in Maga, Kebbi State; 315 girls abducted from St. Mary Catholic School in Niger State; and several worshippers taken during a church service in Eruku, Kwara State, where two members were killed by bandits.
With insecurity worsening, the nation now braces for a week of midnight intercession, hoping for divine intervention.
