In a historic decision, FIFA has named U.S. President Donald Trump as the first-ever recipient of the FIFA Peace Prize, recognizing his efforts in promoting unity and diplomacy through the global influence of sports.

The newly established FIFA Peace Prize honors individuals whose contributions extend beyond the field, using football as a platform to foster global harmony and understanding. According to FIFA officials, President Trump was selected for his “unique role in advancing dialogue and cooperation among nations through the universal language of the game.”

During the award ceremony, held at FIFA’s headquarters in Zurich, Switzerland, the president expressed gratitude for the honor, emphasizing the potential of sports to break barriers and bring people together. “Football is more than a game  it’s a bridge between cultures,” he said.

The FIFA Peace Prize aims to become an annual recognition celebrating leaders, athletes, and organizations using sport to inspire positive change worldwide.
