The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has officially inaugurated the FIFA Talent Development Scheme (TDS) for Girls at the Noble Hall Leadership Academy in Abuja.
The launch marks a major milestone in promoting women’s football development in Nigeria and follows the successful debut of a similar FIFA-backed program for boys two years ago.
The initiative is part of FIFA’s global strategy to provide sustained support and technical assistance to member associations in nurturing young talents. Through the TDS for Girls, future generations of Nigerian female footballers will gain access to improved training facilities, mentorship opportunities, and pathways to professional careers.
Speaking during the event, NFF officials applauded FIFA’s continued commitment to gender inclusivity in football development, emphasizing that the program will not only enhance grassroots participation but also strengthen the national women’s teams in the long term.
