Director Rob Reiner and wife Michele Singer Reiner, who met during production of “When Harry Met Sally,” were found dead inside their Los Angeles home on Dec. 14, sources reveal close according to their family.
Found lifeless in their Brentwood home, apparently due to visible stab wounds, a source close to the family confirmed to NBC
Their family made an announcement regarding the tragic unfortunate passing “It is with profound sorrow that we announce the tragic passing of Michele and Rob Reiner,” their loved ones said in a statement to Variety. “We are heartbroken by this sudden loss, and we ask for privacy during this unbelievably difficult time.”
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, officers responded to a death investigation just before 4 p.m. local time on Dec. 14. Once inside the home, officers discovered both decedents.
“The Robbery Homicide Division responded to the residence, which has been identified as the home of Rob Reiner,” officials confirmed. “At this time, no further details are available as this is an ongoing RHD investigation, into an apparent homicide.”
E! News reached out to a rep for Rob and law enforcement and has not yet heard back.
