The National Treasurer of Accord Party, Chief Abdulazeez Oyeniyi Salaudeen, has declared that the party held a lawful primary election in Osun State on December 10, 2025.
He explained that the primary was conducted in compliance with the Electoral Act, 2022, and under the supervision of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, with Governor Ademola Adeleke as the sole aspirant for the governorship seat.
The national treasurer, who stated this at a press briefing in Minna, disclosed that the party conducted a full election with 150 accredited delegates, with Adeleke securing 145 valid votes, while five ballots were voided due to incorrect thumb printing.
He noted that the process was transparent, with INEC, the media, observers and security agents in attendance.
Salaudeen, who chaired the Electoral Committee, declared Adeleke the winner.
He rejected a parallel election organized those he described as members expelled from the party in 2024, alleging it was a destabilization effort backed by the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Osun State.
In Accord as a party, we don’t have party factions, instead we are united under the able leadership of Barr. Maxwell Ngbudem and the National Secretary, Hon. Adebukola Abiola Ajaja.
We learned that some enemies of democracy who had been expelled from the party since early 2024 are saying that they conducted their own kangaroo election that was not known to INEC and the law.
We are reiterating that we don’t know these people and we believe that they are being sponsored by All Progressives Congress (APC) party members in Osun State to cause confusion and to destabilize the party (Accord) for the people of Osun State.
Accord (Party) in the North Central Zone, held their meeting last Saturday, 14th December 2025, and we affirmed and gave a vote of confidence on the leadership of the party,” he said.
