Abia State Governor Alex Otti, along with two Labour Party House of Representatives members from the state, Hon. Ginger Onwusibe and Hon. Amaobi Ogah, are reportedly holding a closed-door meeting with top officials of the All Progressives Congress (APC) today at Fraser Suites, Abuja.

The secretive gathering adds to speculation about a possible realignment of Otti with the APC ahead of the 2027 Abia governorship race.

While Otti has repeatedly denied intentions to leave the Labour Party, sources close to the meeting told MUK TV that discussions focused on the prospect of the incumbent governor joining the APC.

With official details scarce, insiders indicate that a major stumbling block is the APC’s insistence that Otti would contest its primaries rather than be appointed a consensus candidate.

Political observers are now asking: What could a governor, who has often boasted of winning with his organic supporters and a structureless party, gain by joining a party dominated by “inorganic” elements?
