Umar Abdullahi, son of a former Governor of Kano State, Dr Abdullahi Ganduje, on Sunday gifted properties worth about ₦4bn to members of his staff in what he described as a reward for dedication and loyalty.
Abdullahi, who is the Chairman of Cosgrove Investment Limited, announced the gesture at the company’s 2025 end-of-year retreat held in Abuja.
Speaking with journalists at the event, he said the initiative was designed to reward excellence, promote long-term security for employees and strengthen a sense of shared ownership within the organisation.
He said, “Before we end this retreat, I want to reward the senior staff of this organisation who have contributed meaningfully to its growth with some of our landed property valued at N4bn.
The gesture reflects our broader commitment to empowering the workforce and building sustainable prosperity for the Cosgrove family, as the company continues to expand its footprint across Nigeria’s real estate landscape.
“We are also trying to make this a benchmark for corporate leadership and employee recognition in the Nigerian business environment. The essence is to set a powerful example of how organisations can tangibly invest in the people driving their success.”
The retreat also featured sessions focused on improving operational efficiency, organisational structure and staff performance, with emphasis on speedy project delivery, quality customer service and sustaining the company’s standards in housing development.
