Adekunle Gold has received a special plaque after becoming the first artist to sell out the 3,500‑capacity renovated National Theatre in Lagos, marking a new milestone for both the Afrobeats star and the iconic venue’s post‑refurbishment era.

The feat came during his December 26, 2025 orchestral concert at the National Theatre, where the singer performed an expansive set drawn from his six‑album catalogue before a capacity crowd.

The show, billed as a high‑production “AG Baby” experience, blended Afrobeats with a full live orchestra and has been widely praised by fans and commentators as a career‑defining performance.

Venue representatives and organizers presented Adekunle Gold with a plaque in recognition of the sold‑out night, highlighting his role in re‑opening the refurbished cultural landmark—now also known as the Wole Soyinka Centre to large‑scale contemporary music events.

For Lagos’s live‑music ecosystem, the moment is being hailed as proof that local stars can fill major cultural institutions without relying on foreign headliners, signaling a strong demand for homegrown talent on big stages.
