The leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has given a fresh warning to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, claiming that United States President Donald Trump is plotting to remove him from office.
The cleric’s warning comes amid recent developments in Venezuela involving President Nicolás Maduro and actions attributed to Trump on the global political stage.
In a statement issued on Sunday by his media aide, Osho Oluwatosin, Primate Ayodele alleged that the US President has already “caged” Tinubu and is working towards his eventual removal from power.
He claimed that America’s support for Nigeria in the fight against insecurity is not driven by genuine concern, but by a hidden agenda aimed at gaining access and influence within the Nigerian government.
“Trump is adamant to remove President Tinubu. America will be part of those who will be against Tinubu. You may not see it as I am being shown, and that’s why I am saying Trump is after removing Tinubu, that’s it and nothing more.”
According to the cleric, Nigeria’s security challenges will persist regardless of foreign assistance, insisting that Trump’s focus has nothing to do with ending insecurity in the country.
“Nigeria will still continue to fight insecurity, but either they fight it or not, Trump is focused on removing Tinubu from office, but he doesn’t know it yet. He isn’t after ending insecurity in the country, he knows what he wants and won’t stop at nothing towards achieving it.”
Primate Ayodele urged President Tinubu to take decisive political steps to counter what he described as a calculated plan, warning that failure to act boldly could lead to serious consequences.
“Tinubu must take a very bold step to overcome the plans of Trump, because he has caged him already. Tinubu must not relent his efforts and bring up strategies for him to succeed otherwise, he would be at the losing end while his defeat would be celebrated,” he added.
