Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has vehemently declared that no one, not even President Bola Tinubu, can give him political instructions over Rivers State.
Speaking to a charged crowd of supporters during a weekend gathering in Ahoada Local Government Area, Wike dismissed claims that powerful figures could dictate his political moves, branding such reports as pure fiction.
The former Rivers governor made it clear that Rivers politics is not run by phone calls, slogans, or entitlement chants, warning aspirants against assuming automatic tickets based on noise or perceived loyalty.
“I hear that people are boasting that they will call me and give me instructions. Let me tell you, there is nothing like instruction as far as Rivers State is concerned,” Wike declared.
“Nobody will call me. If you like shout ‘on your mandate’ 50 times a day, it will not give you an automatic ticket.”
With tensions already rising ahead of 2027, Wike insisted that his political decisions would be guided strictly by his own judgment, not pressure, influence, or name-dropping — signaling that the Rivers power game is far from settled.
