Sir Mascot Uzo Kalu, Abia 2027 governorship aspirant, has showered encomiums on the Super Eagles of Nigeria despite their painful semi-final exit to Morocco at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.

In a goodwill message released on Thursday, Kalu said the Eagles embodied the true Nigerian spirit, stressing that the team fought with courage, resilience and honour until the final whistle.

He noted that the players went beyond football, showcasing perseverance, unity and national pride even in the face of disappointment.

According to him, the defeat should not be seen as failure but as part of a bigger journey, reminding the team that a medal is still within reach.

“You fought bravely, you stood tall and you carried the pride of our nation with dignity. Nigeria is proud of you,” Kalu said.

He urged the Super Eagles to stay focused and united as they prepare for their next match, insisting that champions are defined not only by victories but by how they bounce back after setbacks.

“The Eagle never stops soaring. Go again, fight again and make Nigeria proud,” he added.
