The Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL, have expressed concern on the reports of crowd violence in the matchday 20 fixture bet Remo Stars and Ikorodu City in Ikenne.
The encounter which saw Remo Stars secure a narrow 1-0 win over Ikorodu City witnessed physical attacks on fans after the match.
The NPFL Chief Operating Officer, Davidson Owumi said the league body is not happy with the violence witnessed during the game.
#Muktv recalls that the league body met with both teams prior to the fixture to settle the difference between them.
The NPFL have summoned both teams for an investigative hearing on Monday, 19 January.
In light of the reports and video evidence that are in our possession, the NPFL is inviting the two clubs to an investigative hearing on Monday, January 19 at our office in Abuja”, the NPFL stated.
The league body said the hearing is to enable the league to get to the immediate end remote causes of the incident and invoke the rules to apply due sanctions to anyone or club found culpable.
