A Nigerian national based in Thailand, Ukoma Jefta Nuzbech, has been re-arrested by Thai authorities for allegedly evading an ongoing court trial linked to a drug trafficking case in the Koh Pha Ngan area.

#Muktv gathered from a report published by Thailand News that the suspect was arrested on January 14, 2026, following intelligence received by security operatives on his location.

Nuzbech was initially arrested in March 2025 for allegedly selling 25.71 grams of cocaine to an undercover police officer.

He was later granted bail and released pending trial but reportedly failed to appear in court as required, prompting law enforcement agencies to declare him wanted.

Investigators alleged that instead of submitting himself to the judicial process, the suspect went into hiding and continued engaging in drug-related activities across Koh Samui and Koh Pha Ngan.

According to the report, police intercepted a white Mitsubishi Mirage in which Nuzbech was travelling.

Officers were said to have forced their way into the vehicle after he allegedly resisted arrest. A search reportedly led to the recovery of 1.18 grams of suspected cocaine, 50,280 baht in cash and a mobile phone containing messages believed to be linked to drug transactions.

The report added that information retrieved from the phone suggested a connection to a 29-year-old Thai woman, whose bank account QR code was allegedly used to process payments for drug deals.

Nuzbech, who was earlier arrested for delivering cocaine to an undercover officer, failed to honour court summons after being granted bail and allegedly continued selling drugs,” the report stated.

Thai authorities said the suspect is facing charges of possession with intent to distribute, an offence that could attract up to 10 years’ imprisonment and a fine of up to one million baht if he is convicted.

Police also disclosed that investigations have been widened to identify other members of the suspected drug network and determine the extent of its operations.

This development is not an isolated case involving Nigerians in Thailand.

In November 2025, another Nigerian national was arrested in Phuket after allegedly being caught selling illicit drugs in the parking area of a hospital, according to a report by the Bangkok Post.
