Caretaker Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Oyo State, has declared that the party will avoid what happened recently in Ekiti State.
#Muktv gathered that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) did not publish the name of the PDP candidate in the forthcoming gubernatorial election in Ekiti State.
This came as a result of the prolonged internal crises within the party.
PDP caretaker committee in Oyo State has, however, said it will avoid what happened in Ekiti State recently in 2027.
The party noted that it will present candidates that will be recognised in line with the provisions of the law in the 2027 general elections.
Chairman of the caretaker committee, Professor Abdulrahman Akinoso made these declarations via a statement made available to newsmen on Wednesday.
Akinoso while reacting to the exclusion of PDP candidate in the forthcoming election in Ekiti State, noted that the exclusion was caused due to the inability of the party to present its candidate within the stipulated time.
Akinoso said, “But as a great party, with good track records of internal democracy, a repeat of such ugly occurrences should be prevented.
The Oyo State PDP caretaker Committee, under the leadership of Professor Rahman Akinoso, hereby assured our numerous party members that the party is assiduously working towards having legally recognised candidates in 2027 general elections”.
