Former Kano State Governor and leader of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Rabiu Kwankwaso, has received a solidarity visit from residents of Nasarawa Local Government Area at his residence in Kano, amid ongoing political crisis within the party.

Kwankwaso disclosed the visit in a post shared on Facebook on Sunday, where he thanked the delegation for standing by him despite recent political setbacks and internal challenges confronting the NNPP.

“I reaffirmed my profound appreciation for their unwavering courage and determination. Despite the recent trials that have tested the faith and fortitude of many, they have chosen to stand firmly with us—not for personal gain, but for the collective progress and well-being of our people,” the former governor stated.

He described the visit as a reflection of deep-rooted loyalty to the ideals of the Kwankwasiyya movement, which he said remains the driving force behind his political philosophy and sustained grassroots support across northern Nigeria.

Kwankwaso further assured his supporters that the movement’s vision remains intact and that their shared commitment would ultimately yield victory.

“Together, we remain resolute in upholding and advancing the timeless ideals of Kwankwasiyya. The journey continues, and victory is assured by the grace of God and the will of the people,” he added.

The show of solidarity comes against the backdrop of significant political developments in Kano State, where Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, alongside 21 members of the State House of Assembly, eight members of the House of Representatives, and 44 local government chairmen, resigned from the NNPP on Friday following unresolved leadership disputes and ongoing legal battles within the party.
