Grief has struck the Super Eagles camp again as winger Samuel Chukwueze loses his mother, Mrs Sarah Chukwueze.
The heartbreaking news was made public not by the AC Milan star himself but by his brother, David Chukwueze, who took to Instagram with a series of raw, emotional posts that laid bare the family’s pain.
Struggling to come to terms with the loss, David wrote, “Can’t even post your picture to say RIP mum.”
In another emotional outpouring, he added, “My forever love just left me without saying goodbye.”
He also lamented, “You didn’t even carry your grandchild.”
As of press time, the circumstances surrounding Mrs Chukwueze’s illness and death have not been disclosed.
Samuel Chukwueze, who recently featured for Nigeria at the Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco where the Super Eagles finished third, has yet to issue an official statement on the devastating loss.
The sad development comes barely 48 hours after Super Eagles captain Wilfred Ndidi lost his father, Sunday Ndidi, in a fatal road accident in Delta State, casting a dark cloud over the national team and Nigerian football community.
