What began as a romantic getaway in Abuja has ended in shock and disbelief for a Nigerian man after the woman he lodged with allegedly fled with his car and other valuables.
The incident happened on Thursday, February 5, at a hotel in the Asokoro area of the Federal Capital Territory.
According to reports, the man had checked in with the lady, identified as Precious Chinyere, for a short-time stay.
Sources said the situation took a shocking turn later in the evening when the man noticed that Precious had quietly left the hotel room without any notice.
Panic set in after he discovered that his phones and laptop were missing.
Moments later, it became clear that the nightmare had worsened, as the lady had allegedly driven off with his car as well.
The stunned victim reportedly raised an alarm and promptly reported the matter to the police.
Confirming the incident, the spokesperson of the FCT Police Command, SP Josephine Adeh, told LIB that investigations are ongoing, adding that efforts are being made to trace and arrest the fleeing suspect.
