Popular preacher, Pastor Kingsley Okonkwo, has set tongues wagging online after controversially declaring that tattoos are biblically supported, quoting scripture to argue that God and Jesus bear inscriptions.

Speaking during a live broadcast, the pastor challenged long-held religious views that label tattoos as sinful, insisting that the Bible itself tells a different story.

Drawing from Isaiah 49:16, where God says His people are “indelibly imprinted” on the palms of His hands, Okonkwo said the verse leaves little room for doubt.

“God himself has tattooed you. Christ himself has tattooed you,” he said, dismissing claims that tattoos are forbidden for believers.

He also rejected arguments based on the Book of Leviticus, saying such scriptures are often misunderstood and wrongly applied in modern Christianity.

Citing Revelation 19:16, which speaks of a name written on Jesus’ robe and thigh, the pastor argued that the passage suggests Christ bears inscriptions.

His comments have since generated mixed reactions online, with many applauding his interpretation while others accuse him of stretching scripture too far.
