The Delta State Government has approved the 2025 bursary awards for students in public and private tertiary institutions across Nigeria.
The Executive Secretary of the Delta State Bursary and Scholarship Board, Godfrey Enita, confirmed the approval during a meeting with the national executives of the National Association of Delta State Students.
According to him, the approval covers scholarships for students with disabilities, children of deceased civil servants, and financial assistance for Delta students at Nigerian Law Schools.
“I assure you that the governor’s gesture is aimed at easing the financial burden on students and their families, particularly amid prevailing economic challenges,” he said.
Enita explained that the meeting followed concerns raised by students over delays in the 2025 bursary payments.
“I assure you that the government remains committed to its obligations and the board has commenced processing payments for the approved bursaries and scholarships,” he said.
He added that financial assistance earlier approved by Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for Delta students at Nigerian Law Schools was also being processed.
