It was a moment of honour and high praise as 2027 Abia State governorship aspirant, Chief Mascot Uzor Kalu, showered laudatory tributes on former Chief of Army Staff, General Azubuike Ihejirika (rtd), as he clocked 70.

In a heartfelt goodwill message, Kalu celebrated the retired Army Chief as a symbol of patriotism, discipline, and uncommon leadership, applauding his great contributions to Nigeria’s security architecture and nation building.

The former Army Chief, who served under former President Goodluck Jonathan, was described as a steady hand whose tenure was marked by professionalism and strategic depth.

Kalu noted that Ihejirika’s commitment to defending Nigeria’s unity earned him widespread respect across the country.

Fondly called Dikeogu Abia, the celebrant was praised for carrying the state’s banner with pride and integrity on the national stage.

Kalu said the retired general’s courage, selfless service, and dedication continue to inspire a new generation of leaders in Abia State and beyond.

He rounded off his tribute with prayers for good health, greater wisdom, and many more years of impactful service to Abia State, the Southeast, and Nigeria at large.
