The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has deployed its operatives across the six local government areas of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) to monitor Saturday’s council polls.

The move, according to the agency, is aimed at safeguarding electoral integrity and curbing incidents of vote-buying and other forms of electoral malpractice.

Executive Chairman of the Commission, Mr. Ola Olukoyede, said, “Our officers have been tasked to ensure strict surveillance across all council areas. We are committed to preventing any form of electoral fraud and upholding the principles of free and fair elections.”

He added, “Transparency and accountability are key. The EFCC will not condone any attempts to manipulate the will of the people through inducement or coercion.”

The commission, in a statement issued on Saturday, assured that its operatives are fully deployed and actively monitoring the polls to ensure a credible electoral process.
