Sir Mascot Uzor-Kalu (KSJI), the 2027 governorship aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has extended his warmest congratulations to the newly elected leadership of the party following the successful and rancour-free conduct of the ward, local government, and state congresses that culminated in the emergence of Hon. Chijioke Chukwu as the new State Chairman.

In a statement made available to MUK TV, Kalu commended the peaceful conduct of the exercise, noting the contrast with the often-contentious political seasons in the state.

“In a political season often marked by hostility and contestation, the peaceful process of democracy, which has been entrenched in our great party at both the federal and state levels, has prevailed,” he said.

The former Abia Chief of Staff also praised the Congress Committee and key party leaders for their dedication and guidance during the exercise.

“I sincerely commend the Congress Committee. My special appreciation also goes to Distinguished Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, the Senator representing Abia North; Rt. Hon. Benjamin Kalu, the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives; Hon. Nkeiru Onyejiocha, the Honourable Minister of State for Labour; High Chief Ikechi Emenike, our former governorship candidate; and all stakeholders of the party, especially those who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure harmony prevailed. Your leadership, guidance, and spirit of sacrifice have once again proven that the Abia APC is bigger than any individual,” he stated.

Harping on unity as the political strength of APC, Kalu highlighted the symbolic importance of the party’s emblem, the broom.

“The unity displayed throughout this exercise beautifully reflects the very symbol of our party, the broom. A single broomstick can be broken easily, but a bunch bound together is difficult to break. That is the power of collective purpose. That is the strength of the APC,” he said.

Looking ahead, he expressed confidence that the renewed unity within the party would translate into greater victories for Abia APC and the national leadership of the party.

“As we move forward, let us remain bound together in vision, loyalty, and shared determination to reposition Abia State for progress and victory, ultimately tilling the ground for President Bola Tinubu for bumper electoral harvests in 2027. With unity, there is no challenge we cannot overcome and no political battle we cannot win,” he emphasized.

Kalu ended by reaffirming his support for the new leadership, assuring that the journey ahead for Abia APC is bright.

“Congratulations once again to the new Abia APC leadership. The journey ahead is bright, and together, we shall achieve greater victories,” he said.
