Some yet-to-be-identified assailants have killed a 30-year-old Point of Sale operator, Aliyu Musa, in Minna, Niger State.
The attackers forced their way into Musa’s residence in the “T Mama” area of the state capital early Monday morning.
According to reports, the assailants rejected offers of large sums of money and pleas from the victim, reportedly saying, “We are here just to kill you.” Musa was first stabbed in the stomach before being repeatedly attacked with a machete.
Neighbours rushed to his aid after hearing his cries for help, but were unable to apprehend the attackers. They initially took Musa to the Tudun-Wada Police Station and later to the Minna General Hospital, where he died before receiving medical attention.
The deceased’s elder brother, Malam Ibrahim Kolo, confirmed the incident, saying the remains of his sibling were buried at the Muslim burial ground at 10 a.m. on Monday.
“It is very sad and pathetic. I believe my brother’s killers will surely be arrested and brought to justice,” Kolo said.
