The 2027 governorship aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abia State, Sir Mascot Uzor Kalu, has congratulated respected tax expert Mr. Taiwo Oyedele on his confirmation as a Minister of the Federal Republic, describing the development as a crucial step toward stabilizing Nigeria’s fiscal system.
Kalu stated that Oyedele’s elevation comes at a time when the country urgently needs bold fiscal reforms to boost government revenue, encourage investment, and promote sustainable economic growth.
In a statement Thursday, the former Abia State Chief of Staff said the Senate’s confirmation of Oyedele reflects confidence in his extensive experience and technical skills in tax policy and economic reforms.
Kalu pointed out that the Senate’s interactions with the new minister during the confirmation process highlight the need for urgent policy changes to address Nigeria’s fiscal challenges and expand the nation’s revenue base.
He expressed optimism that Oyedele would introduce innovation and practical solutions to the Federal Executive Council, especially in tax reform, fiscal discipline, and economic stability through timely contractor payments.
The APC governorship hopeful added that Nigeria needs capable professionals in key positions to lead the reforms necessary to revive the economy and rebuild public trust in fiscal management.
