La Liga president Javier Tebas says UD Almería have climbed to fifth among Spanish clubs on social media since Cristiano Ronaldo invested in the Segunda División side, calling the boost a key driver for long-term growth.

Speaking about the impact of Ronaldo’s recent 25% stake in Almería, Tebas stressed that the club’s sharp rise in online following is already transforming its commercial appeal. He noted that the stronger digital presence makes it easier to attract sponsors and secure new revenue streams that can sustain the project over time.

Tebas described Ronaldo’s involvement as a statement of ambition, arguing that having one of the world’s most marketable footballers tied to Almería signals serious plans for the future on and off the pitch. The investment, channeled through CR7 Sports Investments, is seen within La Liga as a strategic move that not only elevates Almería’s profile but also reinforces the league’s global visibility.
