Unidentified terrorists have threatened to attack communities in three local government areas of Kwara South Senatorial District.
The threat message was contained in a statement by the coordinator of the Joint Security Watch in the senatorial district, Olaitan Zubair on Saturday.
The statement was copied to the state Commissioner of Police, chairman Ifelodun LGA, chairman of Irepodun LGA, and the chairman of Isin LGA.
The statement read in part, “We’re bringing to your attention reports of potential security threats targeting Kwara on March 23 and possible attacks on Yorubaland from March 28, post-Ramadan.
“We urge immediate action and heightened vigilance to protect citizens.
The people are anxious and need reassurance of their safety.
“Awaiting your prompt response and action.”
Efforts to reach the state police command’s spokesperson, SP Adetoun Ejire Adeyemi at the time of this report proved abortive.
