The Governor of Anambra State, Chukwuma Charles Soludo, has approved the appointment of Mrs. Chiamaka Nnake as the new Secretary to the State Government (SSG).

The announcement, made on March 23, 2026, was conveyed in a statement signed by the Governor’s Press Secretary, Christian Aburime. The appointment is part of ongoing efforts by the Soludo administration to strengthen governance and accelerate socio-economic development in the state.

Mrs. Nnake, an accomplished finance and public sector professional, hails from Nawfia in Njikoka Local Government Area of Anambra State. She brings over 13 years of experience spanning finance, strategy development, and economic planning across both public and private sectors.

Prior to her appointment, she served as Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning in Anambra State, where she played a key role in mobilizing, planning, and allocating state resources to drive development initiatives. She also served as Chairman of Solution Fun City Limited and held strategic roles in several government agencies, including the Anambra State Investment Promotion and Protection Agency, the Internal Revenue Service Board, and the Small Business Agency.

In addition, Nnake has been actively involved in reform initiatives as the state’s Reform Champion for Ease of Doing Business and focal point for Social Investment Programmes. She also serves as Nigeria Chairperson for the Human Capital Opportunities for Prosperity and Equity (HOPE) Programme, further demonstrating her commitment to inclusive growth and human capital development.
Before transitioning into public service, she worked as a Senior Strategy Consultant at PricewaterhouseCoopers Nigeria, where she led over 30 client engagements across multiple sectors, including financial services and the public sector.

Her exceptional performance earned her the firm’s CEO Award in 2021. She also contributed significantly to the development of the Anambra Vision 2070 blueprint and the state’s Combined Transition Plan.
Earlier in her career, she worked with IHS Towers as a Business Analyst and served as an Equity Research Analyst at Meristem Securities Limited.

Mrs. Nnake holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Lagos Business School, where she received the prestigious Beta Gamma Sigma lifetime recognition for academic excellence. She graduated with First-Class Honours in Accounting from Benson Idahosa University and is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA). She is also a member of the ACCA National Advisory Committee and has passed Level I of the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) programme.

She has completed executive programmes, including the Implementing Public Policy programme at Harvard Kennedy School, and is currently pursuing a PhD in Public Policy.

At 39, Mrs. Nnake is married with three children. Her appointment is expected to further strengthen the administrative capacity of the Anambra State Government under Governor Soludo’s leadership.
