Governor Abdullahi Sule has made a dramatic political detour after admitting he may reconsider his earlier decision not to run for Senate in 2027.
The Nasarawa State helmsman, who had ruled out a senatorial ambition, now says intense pressure from supporters and political allies is forcing a rethink.
Speaking on Politics Today, Sule disclosed that the calls for him to contest the Nasarawa North seat have become too loud to ignore.
“The overwhelming pressure from parents, supporters, and people that have worked with me throughout the period is so overwhelming that it is a situation that I can reconsider,” the governor said.
The statement has immediately led to speculations of a major political move, with sources hinting that the Governor has already begun consultations ahead of his 2027 senatorial ambition.
If he eventually throws his hat into the ring, Sule’s entry could shake up the Nasarawa North senatorial race, setting the stage for an intra-party battle with the incumbent, Senator Godiya Akwashiki.
