All Progressives Congress (APC) aspirants in Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency have joined forces together and thrown their full weight behind Orji Uzor Kalu, unanimously agreeing to purchase his Senate nomination form for the 2027 elections.
This political move effectively ends any slim hope of other contenders for the Abia North Senate seat, as the APC stakeholders align to present a single, formidable front.
The decision, championed by Ifeanyi Uchendu, is an eloquent statement of a concerted strategy for consolidating power and strengthening the party’s grip in Abia North.
“This agreement signifies a strategic move to consolidate our efforts towards a united front for the Senate seat, ensuring that no other candidate will be supported for this position,” the former Abia lawmaker said.
Sources familiar with Abia North’s political terrain say this development will destabilise political calculations of opposition parties within the constituency, with unity now taking centre stage over rivalry.
“This unified decision is not just a political maneuver, but a strategic partnership aimed at delivering impactful leadership for Arochukwu/Ohafia and Abia North,” Uchendu noted.
MUK TV reports that Hon. Ifeanyi Uchendu, former Deputy Speaker of the Abia State House of Assembly; Hon. Daniel Chimezie Okeke (Mezie Abia), former APC candidate for the Ohafia/Arochukwu Federal House of Representatives Constituency; and Hon. Nicolas Ukwa, Senior Legislative Aide to Senate President Goodwill Akpabio, are the frontline aspirants jostling for the APC ticket for the Ohafia/Arochukwu Federal Constituency.
The aspirants expressed strong confidence in Kalu’s political clout, counting on his experience to deliver dividends for the region.
“We believe Senator Kalu’s vast experience and influence will significantly benefit our region.”
“As we move forward, we are committed to the collective success of APC in the 2027 elections. The unity shown today will be the driving force behind our victory,” the aspirants stated.
