A Nigerian pastor and founder of Omega Power Ministries, Apostle Chibuzor Chinyere, has officiated the marriage of a young autistic man, known as Aboy Chibuzor, to an older single woman.
The wedding, held on Sunday, March 29, at the church, followed public backlash over a viral video in which the cleric sought a wife for the man.
Aboy is non-verbal and requires assistance with daily activities.
According to the pastor, the groom was abandoned as a child at the church gate and has since been raised under his care.
He said the man, whose family background is unknown, requires full-time care, including feeding, bathing, and other daily assistance.
Chinyere announced financial support for Aboy and his wife, including ₦10 million, a house, and an overseas vacation.
He said the arrangement was intended to provide companionship and support for the young man.
