Rapper Dremo has revealed why he left Davido Music Worldwide, DMW, disclosing that the record label’s management focused more on the CEO, singer Davido, than other artists.
Speaking in a recent interview with Echo Room, the rapper said the management’s focus on Davido undermined the progress of other artists on the label.
“I didn’t collaborate with Idowest who was my label mate and fellow rapper because at that time we were all striving to stay afloat in the music industry. Even DMW as a whole didn’t collaborated much, we never had a record label album. The management focused only on Davido,” he said.
Dremo also revealed that DMW didn’t meet his expectations.
“The label [DMW] didn’t give me money. It was like a platform. I didn’t get what I wanted from the label,” he said.
The rapper said his experience with DMW has made him chose to remain an independent artist.
