Veteran Nollywood actor Chiwetalu Agu has given a blunt warning to men facing financial struggles, urging them to think twice before bringing children into the world amid Nigeria’s harsh economic realities.
In a video shared on Instagram, the outspoken actor highlighted the rising cost of living, pointing to the steady rise in prices of essentials such as diapers, school fees, fuel, and everyday commodities.
Agu expressed concern that many men are taking on responsibilities they are not financially prepared for, stressing that the consequences could be severe.
He cautioned that failing to consider one’s financial capacity before impregnating a woman could lead to overwhelming hardship, noting that such men may ultimately suffer more than the child.
“Pampers prices are increasing, school fees are rising, fuel prices are increasing, and even the cost of commodities keeps going up, yet you have nothing, and you’re still getting a woman pregnant, you’ll definitely cry more than that baby.
