Reports emerged today of residents in Abuja attacking and plundering a truck loaded with food items in the suburb town of Dei-Dei, adding to the growing wave of desperation in Nigeria’s capital.

MUK TV learned of the incident which unfolded on Monday morning, March 4, as captured in a widely circulated video showcasing locals swarming the truck and making off with bags of food items.

This latest episode follows closely on the heels of a similar incident just a day prior, where a warehouse in the FCT was also raided by hungry Nigerians in search of sustenance.

Social media influencer, Imran Muhammad, took to his X Page (Formerly Twitter) to share the distressing footage, lamenting, “This morning, there was another incident of a truck carrying food items being looted in Dei-Dei, Abuja.”

Sadly, this is not an isolated occurrence. Last week witnessed a comparable event in Zaria, as residents emptied a truckload of spaghetti, underscoring the dire impact of Nigeria’s escalating food inflation.

With the country grappling with soaring food prices, the desperation for survival among impoverished citizens has reached a critical juncture, manifesting in widespread acts of food looting across various parts of the country.
