Controversial Islamic scholar, Sheikh Ahmad Gumi, has stepped forward, offering to engage with the terrorists behind the abduction of 287 school children in Kaduna, emphasizing the importance of dialogue for their safe return.

In a press statement, Gumi’s media team highlighted his willingness to facilitate extensive discussions between the government and bandits, echoing calls for a peaceful resolution to the crisis.

Gumi urged the government to adopt the same successful approach used in rescuing passengers kidnapped on the Abuja-Kaduna train, urging against repeating past mistakes of refusing negotiation.

“The government’s stance on no negotiation with the bandits is unfortunate,” Gumi stated, emphasizing the need for dialogue as a religious duty for peace.

As he offers to lead a comprehensive dialogue, Gumi urges the current administration under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to heed his advice and avoid the errors of the past.
