Tragedy struck in Gbagada, Lagos, as an unidentified woman fell victim to a fatal stabbing allegedly carried out by her newly employed househelp.

The gruesome incident happened at her residence on 29, Kiniun-ifa street sawmill, as reported by Vanguard.

The exact timeline of the harrowing event remains unclear, but the lifeless body of the woman was discovered on Saturday, March 9, 2024, by her visiting son.

Upon arrival of newsmen at the scene, the apartment was eerily deserted, locked up with unanswered questions echoing within its walls.

The deceased, who occupied the building alone, was found amidst a pool of blood on the staircase, her body showing signs of decomposition, indicating the heinous act could have occurred days earlier.

“The woman’s son, upon arriving at the compound, went straight to his mother’s apartment, only to find her lifeless body on the staircase, with blood all over”.

“A long piece of wood suspected to be the murder weapon was also found. By then, the body has started swelling, suggesting that the woman might have been killed days before,” a resident within the neighborhood told Vanguard in anonymity.

Further investigations revealed that the househelp, known only as Peter, had commenced employment merely a week prior to the tragic incident.

As authorities delve deeper into the case, attention has turned towards the elusive agent responsible for the househelp’s placement, with a relative of the agent already in police custody.

Despite efforts to gather more information, the grief-stricken son of the deceased remained too distraught to provide any insight into the horrifying ordeal.

Police presence at the Ifako Police division and subsequent transfer of the suspect to the State Criminal Investigation Department underscore the gravity of the situation, as law enforcement authorities intensify efforts to unravel the chilling circumstances surrounding the fatal stabbing.
