Tragedy struck in Lagos as a 40-year-old woman, Patience Johnson, was reportedly beaten to death by her husband in the Agege area of the state.
Confirming the incidents, Lagos State Police spokesperson, Ben Hundeyin, revealed that investigations are underway.
The suspect in the woman’s death, Emmanuel Okpara, has been apprehended, with the deceased’s body deposited at the mortuary.
According to reports, Patience’s son, Destiny, notified authorities after discovering his mother’s dire condition following the alleged assault.
“On 26/03/2024, at about 14:10 hours, one Destiny, son of Patience Johnson, reported at Elere division that on 25/03/2024, at about 01:40, he received a phone call that his mother’s husband, Emmanuel Okpara, beat her leading to injury and vomiting of blood.
“Destiny subsequently rushed his mother to Orile Agege General Hospital, where she was admitted for medical treatment. The mother’s husband was later arrested and detained,” Hundeyin stated.
