The Nigerian Army’s Department of Civil-Military Affairs is set to host a crucial seminar aimed at promoting responsible use of social media among media professionals in the Southeast.

Entitled “Enhancing National Security through the Responsible Use of Social Media,” the event is designed to tackle misinformation and boost online practices.

Scheduled for today at the GIA Event Center in Aba, Abia State, this seminar will gather bloggers, social media influencers, journalists, and other media stakeholders from the region, as reported by The Whistler.

The session marks the first of its kind in Abia State and the 33rd edition of the Army’s ongoing efforts to engage with media to address national security challenges.

Captain J.G Pam, the coordinator for the Department of Civil-Military Affairs in Abia State, highlighted the significance of this initiative.

“The Nigerian Army, as part of her transformation drive and the need to interact/interface more with the Nigerian citizens, has embarked on several sensitization programs. The 33rd edition is scheduled for Aba, Abia State on 23 April 2024. At the end of the event, a Certificate of Participation will be given to all accredited participants,” he stated in a press release on Monday.
