The Kano State High Court has confirmed the suspension of former governor Abdullahi Ganduje from his role as National Chairman of the All Progressive Congress (APC), amid worsening internal discord within the party.
Justice Usman Malam Na’abba granted the ex parte order following a motion filed by two APC executive members from Ganduje’s own ward, Laminu Sani and Haladu Gwanjo.
The motion accused Ganduje of misconduct and violation of party rules, prompting the court’s intervention.
The ruling bars Ganduje from engaging in any activities related to his former position and participating in the affairs of the National Working Committee (NWC).
“An order is hereby granted directing all parties… to maintain status quo ante belum… restraining [Ganduje] from parading himself as a member of APC or presiding over any affairs of the NWC,” stated Justice Na’abba.
This legal action stems from a broader controversy involving allegations of corruption against Ganduje, brought forward by Ja’afaru Adamu, a party member from his polling unit.
