Segun Sowunmi, a prominent figure in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has suggested that Nyesom Wike was temporarily “loaned” to collaborate with the All Progressives Congress (APC) government.
Wike, currently serving as the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), parted ways with the PDP leadership in the lead-up to the 2023 election.
During this period, he threw his support behind the APC, playing a pivotal role in the ruling party’s victory in Rivers State during the presidential poll.
While doubts persist about Wike’s allegiance to the PDP, Sowunmi remains optimistic that the former Rivers State governor will rejoin the main opposition party at the opportune moment.
Sowunmi shared his perspective during an appearance on the Friday edition of Politics Today, a current affairs program on Channels Television.
