Since job creation is key to the Arise Agenda of Chief Mascot Uzor Kalu, the entertainment and tourism industries are strategic areas, and investment in that sector is aimed at giving talented young people an opportunity to realize their potential.
Chief Mascot Uzor Kalu’s administration will invest heavily in the creative industry and pay close attention to the development and sustenance of the sector when elected as Governor.
This he will achieve by deploying innovation and modern technology to unlock the potentials of entertainment and tourism, knowing that an investment in the creative industry would have a direct impact on the economy and will discourage restiveness among the youth.
From the provision of grants and support for the creative and entertainment industry in the State to the resuscitation of the State’s art and cultural center, Chief Mascot Uzor Kalu’s administration would inspire members of the creative industry through incentives by providing a continuously enabling environment to promote their skills and talents.
Having mentored many young people through the popular Ignite and other mentorship programs, the seasoned entrepreneur believes that investing in the creative industry would, besides creating jobs and reducing crime, boost the tourism sector and revenue generation for the state.
He has on many occasions emphasized the need to invest more resources in the creative industry and motivate youths to use their talents to reduce unemployment and social restiveness.
Unveiling his tourism development blueprint as embedded in his Arise Agenda, Chief Uzor Kalu who described himself as an active player in the tourism sector promised to address the concerns raised during the roundtable discussion when he becomes Governor.
“We will get Nigeria Export promotion Council to have an office in Abia State. From the film academy, we will create a film village in Abia State. From what we’ve seen across we will encourage talents. Abia State will be a major hub for ICT in this South-East region. We will encourage creative talents. We will have a yearly carnival or event that would make people come to Abia State”.
A vote for Chief Mascot Uzor Kalu’s candidacy is a choice for the development of the creative industry and sustainability of the entertainment sector in Abia State.
