In Ogun State, a motorcyclist named Afeez Mustapha has been apprehended by the police on accusations of sexually assaulting a female passenger.
Confirming the arrest, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Omolola Odutola, issued a statement on Friday, narrating how the incident happened.
According to Odutola, Mustapha diverted from the intended route while transporting the female passenger and took her to a secluded area, where he reportedly committed the heinous act, as reported by The Punch.
Mustapha has since been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation, Odutola confirmed.
The statement posted on X read, “Commercial motorcycle rider arrested for rape on May 9, 2024. One Afeez Mustapha is in SCID for sexual assault of a female passenger, after diverting to a route different from that of the passenger.”
