Abdulwahab Magaji, an officer of the Nigeria Customs Service serving in the Federal Capital Territory, was discovered dead in his residence on Binta Street, Farm Estate area, Abuja.

According to PUNCH Metro, the incident occurred last Monday, as confirmed by a senior law enforcement officer.

The family of the deceased raised the alarm, reporting that Magaji had shot himself with a rifle, prompting a swift response from police officers who visited the scene.

Upon arrival, the victim was rushed to Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital, where he was pronounced dead by the attending doctor.

“A family of the deceased had raised the alarm that CSC Abdulahi Abdulwahab Magaji, a customs officer serving in Abuja, shot himself in his house at Farm Centre with a pump-action rifle,” the source disclosed.

The body of the deceased has been handed over to the family for burial, following Islamic rites.

Efforts to obtain official statements from the FCT Police Public Relations Officer, Josephine Adeh, and the Customs National Public Relations Officer, Abdullahi Maiwada, were unsuccessful as of the time of filing this report.
