The Lagos State Police Command has apprehended renowned musician Habeeb Okikiola, famously known as Portable, following allegations of unpaid debt related to a G-Wagon purchase.
Reports indicate that the controversial artist was detained on Tuesday due to his purported failure to settle the debt accrued from his acquisition of a G-Wagon from a local car dealer.
Portable allegedly paid only N13 million of the N27 million total cost, leaving a N14 million balance unpaid.
The car dealer, aggrieved by Portable’s non-payment, sought intervention from law enforcement, resulting in the singer’s arrest.
Confirming the incident, Benjamin Hundeyin, the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, affirmed Portable’s arrest, stating, “The report is true. He was arrested today.”
