Convicted billionaire kidnapper, Chukwudumeme Onwuamadike, alias Evans, currently facing charges of attempted murder, has made a surprising move by pursuing a plea bargain at the Lagos State High Court in Ikeja.
Evans, along with his co-defendant Joseph Emeka, who is facing charges of murder and attempted kidnapping, has opted for a plea bargain arrangement, The Punch reported.
During a court session presided over by Justice Adenike Coker, the state prosecution counsel, Mr. Yusuf Sule, revealed that Evans had expressed interest in a plea bargain after the case was called for re-arraignment.
The duo is set to be re-arraigned on an amended five-count charge, including murder, attempted murder, and conspiracy to commit kidnapping.
Sule informed the court about Evans’ plea bargain application, noting that the terms are currently under review by the Attorney-General of Lagos State, Mr. Lawal Pedro (SAN).
