The proposed meeting between President Tinubu and lawmakers-elect from opposition parties earlier scheduled to take place today has been postponed indefinitely.
While no official reason was given for the postponement of the meeting, which was meant to be part of the ongoing moves by the President for members of the National Assembly to agree on preferred candidates for the positions of principal officers, MUK TV gathered that the postponement could be to give the opposition lawmakers time to consult with their respective parties.
Recall that the National Publicity Secretary of the main opposition party, the PDP, Debo Ologunagba, had objected to the meeting, saying that the party was not aware of such a meeting but got to know about it through the media.
Before the postponement, President Tinubu was expected to meet members-elect and senators-elect from the opposition parties today at 3 PM and 5 PM, respectively.
