Ikorodu City, Nasarawa United, Elkanemi Warriors, and Beyond Limits have been promoted to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).
For the first time in their history, Ikorodu City will compete in the country’s premier football league after securing their slot alongside the three other teams following the NNL Super 8 playoff.
Ikorodu City and Beyond Limits topped the Southern Conference of the NNL, while Elkanemi Warriors and Nasarawa United led the Northern Conference.
Elkanemi Warriors secured their promotion by defeating Sokoto United 4-1, earning six points to finish second. Nasarawa United clinched their NPFL spot by narrowly beating Sporting Supreme 2-1, accumulating nine points.
Both Elkanemi Warriors and Nasarawa United were relegated from the NPFL last season but have now fought their way back to the top tier.
