Ayo Akinyelure, former Senator for Ondo Central, has assured Nigerians that despite the current economic challenges, better days are on the horizon under President Tinubu’s administration.
In a statement from Akure, the Ondo state capital, Akinyelure highlighted Tinubu’s vigorous efforts to stabilize the nation’s economy, as reported by Vanguard.
He praised the peaceful conduct of Ondo state’s youth during
the ongoing nationwide protest against poor governance, stating, “They are true indigenes of Ondo State by not engaging in any destruction of private and public properties.”
Akinyelure emphasized that youth unemployment would soon be a thing ofthe past, both in Ondo and nationwide.
He attributed this to Tinubu’s planned programs, saying, “The planned programs of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, when fully rolled out and implemented, I am sure the people of our great country will be celebrating him as a great leader of our time.”
He explained his extended stay in Abuja, working as the National Committee Chairman of supporters for the Tinubu-Shettima government, alongside 15 other Senators.
“We are working seriously to develop some youth empowerment programs that will soon be unfolded in all the six geopolitical zones of our great Nation.”
Akinyelure also thanked students across Ondo for maintaining peace on campuses and urged them to continue engaging in dialogue with the state government.
He appealed to youth protesters in other states to emulate Ondo’s peaceful approach, stressing the importance of cooperation with the Tinubu-led administration for Nigeria’s economic prosperity. “Patience and understanding are the key words to be embraced by all and sundry.”
Praising Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa for maintaining order during the protests, Akinyelure recalled the destructive 1983 riots, expressing hope that such events would not recur.
He urged the Ondo state government to collaborate with the Federal Ministry of Solid Mineral and Natural Resources to exploit the state’s vast bitumen deposits, potentially creating thousands of jobs and boosting revenue.
Akinyelure further called for industrialization efforts, including developing a sea port and refinery in the Olokola area, to tackle the state’s unemployment issues.
